A Short History of Internet
Today Internet is main source of information . there is not a single question whose answer is not available on Internet. Today Internet is not only source of information but also for entertainment.we can say that Internet is real power of information and we can feel it in our daily life.
I do not know how many of us think that" How Internet is originated?" i think it is very interesting question.
Let's take an overview about History of Internet.
If we look at the history, in year 1969 Internet start when Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA) of department of defence U.S. government began connecting computers of different universities of U.S.and defense contractors . the resulting network was called ARPANET( Advanced Research Project Agency Network).
At the initial stage of ARPANET it serving only few people after that ARPANET grew quickly to Atlantic to Europe in year 1973.
In year 1980 another federal agency National Science Foundation(NSF) developed five super computer that were available who want to do academic research . NSF found that existing network ARPANET could not handle the load and NSF created their own network known as NSFNET( National Science Foundation Network) after that ARPANETNSFNET link to each other and created Internet.
The original ARPANET was shut down by U.S. government in year 1990 and year 1995 U.S. Government dis continued service of NSFNET but commercial backbone service replace them as we are using now.
