How to Check and Reply Multiple e-mail Addresses in Gmail

Gmail got very popular within very short span of time as compare to other e-mail service provider. recently it is found that in India Gmail is more popular than Yahoo!. due to Gmail a type of e-mail revolution came in the world of Internet. i clearly remember that when Gmail came in the market at that time Gmail was the highest space provider to it's user at that time. Gmail completed its glories 5 years and currently out of Beta version.

some people thinks that they can not switch to Gmail mail because of their e-mail ID is old one, given to lots of people and lots of important mail and contacts in my current e-mail ID but it is possible with Gmail to import your all mail and contact from your previous e-mail account to Gmail For detail Info read this article ( Import Your mail and contact from other account to Gmail ), not only this Gmail also provides facility to check e-mail and reply from multiple address in gmail. today people use multiple e-mail accounts according to their need like one for personal use , one for official use , etc with Gmail you have no any need to log in your multiple e-mail addresses , you can do all this with singlelogin with gmail. there are two ways to make this happen.

1.Set up mail forwarding or fetching
2. Set up custom "Form"

Lets know in detail.

1. Set up mail forwarding and fetching
Today many e-mail service provider offers free auto-forwarding to other e-mail accounts . In Gmail log into your accounts and click on the setting which you will get right hand side of any page and set your Gmail address as forwarding target. if your other e-mail service provider does not offers forwarding but support POP3 then it is possible. POP is stand for Post Office Protocol, that lets you download message from Gmail server onto your computer so you can access your mail with a program like MS-outlook express,Netscape mail, , even when you aren't connected to the Internet. If you are thinking about POP then i would like to advice you to go forIMAP ( Internet Message Access Protocol) that let's you download message from GMail's server onto your computer so you can access your mail with a program like MS-Outlook Express or Apple Mail, even when you are not connected to the Internet.IMAP creates constant connection between mail client( Desktop or Mobile) and Gmail.

Let's know what is the difference between POP and IMAP?
Unlike POP , IMAP offers two way communication to your web Gmail and your e-mail Client.IMAP also provides a better method to access your mail from multiple devices . if you check your mail at work , on your mobile phone and again at home ,IMAP ensure that new mail is assessable from any device at anytime anywhere. it shows that IMAP offers a more stable communication experience overall., whereas POP is prone to losing message or downloading the same message multiple times.,IMAP avoid this through two way syncing capabilities between your mail clients and your web Gmail. IMAP service for Gmail is free.

I am sure that you will prefer IMAP over POP . you can access with mail fetcher setting. Mail fetcher is free and easy but the email account you would like to fetch from must support POP access and in the case of GMail address , have POP access enabled . once you have set up mail fetcher , Google will check your other accounts on a regular basis and new mail will appear automatically in gmail.

Lets know how to set up mail fetcher?
1. Log on into your Gmail accounts
2.Click on setting===>Accounts===>Import tab.
3.In the check mail using POP3 section, Click add POP3 e-mail accounts.
4.Enter the e-mail address of the accounts you like to access , then click on next step.
5.Gmail will populate sample setting , but Google recommend checking with your other provider to learn the correct server name and port , enter your password.

After dong this now it is time to decide whether to leave a copy of retrieves message on the server or not. if you'd like to keep a copy of each message Gmail retrieves in your other mail accounts , select the leave of copy of retrieved message s on the server check box.this way, you can access mail in your other accounts and in gmail.please note that some Gmail service may still delete your message when Gmail fetches them., if this option is checked , Gmail will instruct the other domain to leave the message s in place , through the final behaviour is up to the other domain. if you'd rather delete copies of messages that Gmail retrieves, leave this option unchecked . Gmail will delete the messages from the other accounts , as the messages are retrieved, meaning you will only be able to read them in Gmail.

If you'd like to automatically label all messages that are retrieved from your non-Google accounts , select " Label Incoming Messages" option, you can choose to use the preserved Label ( Your e-mail address), or you can select an existing label or create a new on from drop down menu list.' "Archiving Incoming Messages" mail from this account can be archived directly, without showing up in your Inbox.

6. click on " Add Account" once your account has been added successfully, you will have the option of setting it as a custom from address. this allow you to compose message in Gmail, but have them appear to be sent from you other e-mail accounts . click yes to setup a Custom From address.

2.Set up Custom " Form"
It is another way to check and reply from multiple e-mail addresses in Gmail.
Gmail's custom "From:" feature lets you send mail with one of your other email addresses listed as the sender in place of your Gmail address. Gmail's custom 'From:' feature lets you use Gmail to send messages with another of your email addresses listed as the sender in place of your Gmail address. This way, it's easier to manage multiple accounts from the Gmail interface. The custom 'From:' feature works only if you already own the alternate address as part of a separate account. To send mail with a different Gmail username, you must first sign up for that address. Select an option below for instructions on how to set this up.for how to set this up in the Help Center, but the basics are adding the address you want to use and then verifying that it belongs to you. Once you have your custom "From:" set up, you can pick which address you want to reply from in the "From:" address drop down while composing messages.

Once you're set up: sending mail

To use a verified custom 'From:' address when composing a new message, pick an address from the drop-down menu in the 'From:' field. If you're replying or forwarding, click change next to the 'From:' field first. You can also choose to automatically use the address to which a message was sent.

To edit the name, configuration or reply-to address for an existing entry, click edit next to the address on your Accounts tab. To delete an address, just click delete.

Note for IMAP/POP users:

If you access Gmail through a POP or IMAP email client (e.g. Outlook) and would like to send messages with a custom "from" address, you have two options. We recommend that you configure your email client with two outgoing SMTP servers, one for Gmail and one for your other address. Your second option is to use Gmail's outbound servers with a different "from" address. If you've already configured the custom from address in the web interface, your message will be sent from:otheraddress@domain.com, sender:username@gmail.com, regardless of which custom from configuration you chose. Your messages will be sent from your regular Gmail address if you never configured your custom from settings in the web interface.----)
